My Weekends #3

It was a very tiring weekend.

2 days of driving lessons. The way the instructor teach really demotivate me. You see, nobody can be good at controlling stereng, clutch, brek and accelerator in one day.

I feel demotivated and worried. There is one more lesson to go on the 15th of February and the JPJ test for car will be on the 17th February.

JPJ test for the bike will be on the 24th February.

I hope I can pass the JPJ test.

Wish me luck for one of my resolution in 2014!!!

Have a nice day.

Friday 24 January 2014

Oh Time!!!

It is only 24th January but I feel as though half of the year has passed. Time is running extremely fast and we have to run towards it too...

Too many things are going and changing around me now and sometimes I don't know which one to focus. Career, personal, financial, which one??? I made myself to think positively that I can go through it.

This year, I am poor with calendars. My mother bought for me the Hindu calendar and that's it.

Last week, I got the Libresse 2014 calendar that I wanted. My mother bought Libresse and yeah this calendar is free but the moment I saw, I am very excited with how creatively it were designed.

Let me show you...

You can use a marker to capture how you feel everyday on this, basically you can draw an emoticon.

There is a rubber band for you to pull the bow backwards. You can use a paper bullet and release the arrow at your desired target.
" Aim for the stars & reach for the sky"
Always shoot for the stars & reach for the sky
For the secret to sweet success is simply to try

Libresse is in partnership with young Malaysian women in business and the promo on the above calendar is for delightful Potong artisan popsicles.

Log on to http://www.livelibresse.com.my/shineon/calpromo/ for special deals from the The Potong Artisan Pops.

Have a great weekend!!!

Tauhu Sambal

So I was vegetarian on Tuesday and decided to cook tauhu sambal for my lunch.

Tauhu Sambal (1 pax)

3 pieces of tauhu (cut into small pieces)
Baba's Chilli Powder
Onion
Ginger
Garlic
Water
Salt
Oil

1. Fry the pieces of tauhu until it turns golden brown. Set aside.
2. Cut onions and garlic. Grate some ginger.
3. Heat oil in a wok. ( I used the oil that I used to fry the tauhu pieces ).
4. Add onions, garlic and grated ginger. Saute and add the chilli powder. Add water. Let it simmer.
5. Add the fried tauhu pieces and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt.

I don't have any measurement of the ingredients. I follow my instincts and it turns out okay for me, taste wise.

My Weekends #2

Hi,

I am happy to be home last week. It was a good weekend and I consider myself lucky enough to see the chariot for Thaipusam at least.

The bus stop, bus ticket back home and tea...

I prefer tea over coffee and my mother's is the best. She uses the tea bag too, like me but the tea tastes better back home.

I went to Ipoh on 18/1/2014. We parked the car at Little India and decided to  wait for the chariot there. I guess we waited for almost 4  hours for the chariot. Surprisingly this year, the girls were dressed decently and the boys were not doing any 'monkey' acts.

Some photos from the (thanner panthal)booth set up at Little India, Ipoh

I managed to take some photo of our pet, Liony. He is very naughty and pampered.

And that is a wrap for week 3 of January...

Have a nice day people...

Throwback Thursday #3

It is the 10th month of Indian calendar and there is festive mood everywhere.

14, 15 and 16 is Pongal. Today is also Thaipusam's eve. Tomorrow will be Thaipusam.

I am sad I could not make it to Thaipusam at Penang this year. Anyway, it was my choice and I hope I can go next year.

Since today is Thursday and I am missing Thaipusam, I decided to do throwback Thursday for Thaipusam on the year 2012 and 2013. I didn't have good photos but this photos are enough to bring back the good memories.

And this is me way back on January 2013...

The love symbol is to hide something at the back... hehex.

I wish I can go to Thaipusam next year as a better person. My relationship with God was much more better on previous years compared to now. Talking to my colleague Tanya yesterday had made me realize it.

Anyway, I will be going back home on Saturday. Maybe I will go to Ipoh. I am not sure if I will go on Saturday or Sunday because my father is having his company dinner on Saturday.

To those reading, if you are an Indian going to Thaipusam, be it at Batu Caves, Penang or Ipoh, please show good examples.

Have fun!!!

Sour but Beneficial

Hmm sounds like a truth been revealed but only for me I guess, hehe. I am late to know this, probably because I didn't pay attention to it.

A while back, I wrote about adding lemon to drinking water here. I do this almost everyday. My main concern to do this is because I read it helps on metabolism. But, I realized my complexion has got better too.

Lemon is sour but the benefits are wow, amazing...

  1. Aids digestion. Lemon has Pectin fiber, which helps on digestion.
  2. System cleanser. It flushes toxin out of the body, thus cleansing our system.
  3. Immune system booster. It is rich in Vitamin C, to make it simple, protects body from flu and fever.
  4. Balance pH level. We get sick when our body becomes acidic. Lemon actually alkalize our body.
  5. Clears skin. Lemon is a rich source of anti oxidant and Vitamin C. On top of that, it flushes toxin out o the body thus giving a clearer complexion.
  6. Mood enhancer. Studies show that lemon smell can enhance our mood and relieve us from anxiety, depression, and fatigue. Time to get lemon air freshener.
  7. Aids weight loss. Lemon boosts metabolism and assist fat burning at cellular level. That means,it transports fat as enery.
Tips

If you are having flu, fever or are extremely tired, mix 1 tsp of honey with 1 slice of lemon on warm water and drink. It is a very soothing drink. You can get this drink at Old Town White Coffee if you do not want to do it on your own or do not have the time.

Spread lemon juice on your pimple, leave it overnight and wash it the next morning. Use lemon juice directly from the lemon, not the bottled lemon juice.

Add lemon into hair mask if you have dandruff.

Have fun with lemon.

My Weekends

I am finishing my weekends or let me just call it offdays writing a blog post about it. I spent most of the time sleeping and watching movies. I went out today to buy tickets to go back home for Thaipusam.

Well, I am pretty occupied on coming weekends. Thaipusam is around the corner and I will be going to driving classes starting on the 25th January. So, I decided to chill around.

Talking about movies, I watched Nearlyweds, Remember Sunday and Rabba Main Kya Karoon.

Nearlyweds

When I saw the title, I thought this is about a couple who decided to get married but they couldn't because some circumstances. But, it is not. This movie got me thinking, if I weren't legally married, will I choose my husband again to remarry? Of course I do.

Remember Sunday

A movie worth watching. Gus suffers from short term memory loss and Molly is going through a hard time. Both met, but Gus will forget Molly the next day. The story is how both of them go through it, of course Molly have to make the effort.

Rabba Main Kya Karoon

A movie about boyfriend and girlfriend who decided to get married. It is about love and trust.

3 movies, huh!!! The husband came over for a while and we had good dinner together. And that's a wrap for week 2 of 2014.

Good night people...

Face Shape and Skin Tone

It is quite late for me to find out what is my face shape and my skin tone. But it is better late than never right?

Face Shape

Nothing much to say, I found out my face shape is oval. Go to The Beauty Department to find out.

Skin Tone

My skin tone is warm. To find out, click here.

Both of these questionnaire are very useful to find out what type of haircut, hair colour, foundation, lipstick and nail polish suits you. Actually, a lot more, you name it.

I am not a beauty guru but I thought sharing this would not make any harm.

Sharing is Caring!!!

Thursday 9 January 2014

I turn 24!!!

Happy 24th birthday to me!!!

A year older and hopefully a year wiser and better.

I don't have a selfie of mine now to put it here. I took one but I don't like it.

So here is a picture of mine when I was young, a baby, I don't remember how many months...

The picture is not clear but anyway...

Happy birthday to all who is sharing the same birth date!!!

Dinner

I just had a relaxing dinner with my friend, Relina. Initially, we planned to go out for dinner at any restaurants nearby but then decided to have a small pot luck dinner instead.

Relina volunteered to cook pasta. I have no idea what to cook and she told me to bring fruits and drinks instead. I wanted to cook side dish for the pasta and had no clue.

My colleague, Tanya suggested chicken meatballs as side dish . Hmm good idea and I decided to switch meatballs into a healthier option, breadballs. But, I slept off because I was tired, very tired.

So, I bought drinks and brought longan.

We had dinner nearby our apartments.

We decided to do this more often. It is cost efficient and relaxing at the same time.

And to add on the list of how to have a lovely day,

  1. Drink tea. I like tea, yummy!!!
  2. Wear something that makes you feel good. Good and comfortable.
  3. Say please and thank you. I say this all the time.
  4. Tell somebody you love them. I tell my husband I love you every time I end a conversation.
  5. Eat dessert first. I am watching my diet.
  6. Watch the sunrise or the sunset. Hmm, quite difficult with current shift.
  7. Wear perfume. Each time I smell good, I feel good.
  8. Smile (a lot!). I do this too.
  9. Read a book. I like reading books but I have not find any good reading material yet.
  10. Cook or bake for someone else. I can cook but bake, let me have a baking oven first.
  11. Wish others a lovely day. I wish my customers have a nice day everyday.
  12. Watch a good film. Weekends...
  13. Do all things with thought and care. I must practice this more.
  14. Think before talking. I must practice this more.
  15. Take 1/2 hours day to do something special for yourself. Facial, painting toe nails.
  16. Stop and really savour your meals. Stop messaging and playing with the phone while I am eating.
  17. Help someone in need.

Thoughtful Tuesday #1

Way back, ages back I wanted to write about SMILE and SMILING.

Reason, some people have temporary disability of smiling muscles.

Okay, I do not want to talk bad about anyone here. It just annoys me when you don't smile at a person back but you can laugh at him/her in a large group.

I smile everyday to people I know. I don't do fake smile.

So, smile people. It doesn't cost you anything.

Have a great Tuesday!!! I know you are having one.

Life

As usual, I will search for quotes on Monday that relates my current situation. And today, I choose life quotes.

There were days I felt lonely and neglected. I was very stressed with my life, what I am going to do and how to manage If... yeah the If's, it made me anxious.

I am glad that I am blogging, I can write my random thoughts. I am glad I found Happy Jar idea, thanks to Deeper Than Fashion. It made me appreciate small things in my life now. Thanks to my husband, who was willing to spend his time with me last weekend. And not to forget my friend who agreed for lunch date the moment I messaged her.

Now to the quotes...

I am trying to make my life beautiful everyday because I want happy moments to be in my Happy Jar.

See, good days give you HAPPINESS.

And last but not least, how to have a lovely day???

  12. Watch a good film. Weekends...
  13. Do all things with thought and care. I must practice this more.

I hope can add more and make a list of 100 ways to have a lovely day.

Wishing everyone a blessed day filled with laughter and love.

Thank you.

The Beginning

Hi,

It is the first Sunday of the year and wishing everyone to

I have no plans today except preparing myself for the work shift change, I will be working at night for the next 3 months.

My whole routine will change and it will take time to adjust with the change...

As per the subject, what I meant with the beginning was what I do to kick start my resolution of healthy hair and skin and losing weight.

As per my hair,

I cut the remaining hair which was straight.

As per my skin,

My shift is changing. I was thinking of moisturizer that suits my shift change.

Night cream is a big NO because it can be only used when you sleep. Anyway, my night cream has finished.

I still have my day cream with SPF15. My skin is not exposed to Sun at night so I am not sure if I can use this one. I still have quite a lot of day cream and I don't want to waste it. I am planning to use Olay Total Effects Day Cream with SPF 15 when I go to office and use the Olay Aquaction long lasting hydration gel when I sleep.

I will review  about the Olay Aquaction gel after one month of using it.

As per losing weight,

My first step was adding lemon to plain water that I drink daily. No sugar. I got this idea from iVillage Health. Go and check it out.

As per now, my scale stands at 59kg. It goes to 60kg sometimes. Will I hit 50kg end of the year?

I gain weight more when I work at night. This is based on my previous experience. This is my plan to stay safe from weight gain.

Will update my experience from time to time.

:)

Charm Charm Charm

Hi,

My offdays were productive. I was not lazing around like I usually do.

I woke up quite late on Friday but...

# I went out for lunch with my friend
# I did my resolutions sticky note
# I washed my one week laundry
# I cooked fried rice for dinner
# I prayed

Wow, I am amazed...I don't do this usually. And today, I went out with my husband and spend some quality time with him.

Actually, I want to write about my second successful online order and something I have got for myself which I wanted for a long time...

My first successful online order was with MPH Online. I ordered three books, waited for it and was very happy when I receive it. I know it is a genuine store but you know the first timer feeling...

My second successful online order was with Groupon. Again, I know it is  a genuine company... I don't do online shopping much... so, when I do, of course I am worried the item will not be sent safely, lost in the post and so on. I fell in love with this item the moment I saw it...

It is a retro bracelet watch with a butterfly charm.

And now...

I am the proud owner :)....

I always wanted a charm bracelet... and I saw this stall at Alamanda Putrajaya where they have different type of bracelet, charms and beads.

My birthday is around the corner and I got myself a charm bracelet...

I chose scooter/Vespa, letter V, letter S and guitar.

I chose scooter because I am going to go for a driving test soon and I hope this charm will help me.

I chose letter V and S because it symbolize both me and my husband.

I chose guitar because I like to listen to songs, Viknes has a guitar that I always want and guitar, for me has very unique characteristics...

I would like to add Eiffel tower, elephant, dreamcatcher and symbol Om...for now!!!

Bye...

How to Keep with New Year Resolutions

Hi,

It is the third day of a brand new year... 3rd January 2014.

How is your resolutions going? If you don't have one, it is okay... maybe you have not figure it out yet.

Okay, it is quite funny but true. Most of us are motivated to keep up with resolutions for the first week or the first month. Then, we lose the motivation.

I do that too... this year I would like to stick to my resolutions better than 2013's.I would be happy if I achieve at least 50% of the resolutions.

I searched for ideas on Internet to remember resolutions. Here you go with the ideas...

This is called a New Year Jar. You get a jar and put any items that resemble your resolution. For example, if you would like to buy a car, then you can put a miniature car. In my case, I can put a curly girl picture(printed), number 10 or miniature weighing machine, letter P, miniature stove and letter f to resemble my resolutions.

This is sticky note. You can get a sticky note in different colours, write your resolutions and stick it at any place that you spend most of your time. You can stick at your refrigerator, bedroom wall, mirror, laptop or your work desk.

Handphone/smartphone or laptop/desktop wallpaper. You can choose any picture, in my case I chose the above picture. Write down your resolutions on it and set as your wallpaper.

I choose the sticky note. But I modified it by using coloured papers. I cut 10 different papers in different colours all in same size. I drew my resolutions on it. Then, I stick it on the wall where my laptop table is placed.

Tadaa...

If anyone reads this blog, I hope the above ideas are useful.

:)

Throwback Thursday #2

I was 14 when this photo was taken. I was wearing pinafore with a tie because ehem, I was the class monitor.

I miss my school and my friends.

I want a class re-union but all of us are so busy to have one. We have been planning for this since we left school but nothing happened so far.

I think I am going to plan for one!!!

Happy New Year 2014!!!

Hi people,

Sitting in my room, with a cup of tea and chia seed biscuit, I am feeling blessed for another chance to live in this world. I know this year is going to be very challenging and exciting year at the same time.

I have a habit of reading my horoscope 1st day every year. How about you?

I was born in the year of horse and that is one of the reason I look forward for 2014.

I decided to do a happy jar this year.

I will write any happy moments during 2014 on a piece of paper and put it in the jar. I will read all of them at the end of the year.

It is empty for now. I hope I can write something and put it in.

Happy New Year people!!!
