I have just realized that I should embrace the natural me...
I start to rebond or straighten my hair when I was 13. I have a curly, frizzy hair but back then, I did not know how to take care of it. I did not know that conditioner plays an important role for curly, frizzy and dry hair. Basically, I did not know how to take care of my hair.
When I entered secondary school...I was the teased for my hair by the boys and equally by the girls. The only difference is boys talk in front of me but the girls talk behind me. They called me 'bee hive' and even African girl because of my curly hair. I could not take it, peer pressure they called and my episode of hair straightening continued for 10years.
Then, I slowly realized that curls is the season now. Even straight hair girls go for curls...wow, I didn't know curls is such in a demand. Then I decided... to grow back my natural curly hair. It is not easy but I am determined.
I told myself that I did not need to sit for 7 hours in a saloon. I do not need to withstand any straightening hair cream smell. I do not need to withstand the heat of the straightener. I do not need to expose my hair to chemicals. I do not need to waste RM200 every 6 months.
Right now my inspiration is Merida from Brave:-
